We Love Vancouver's Rain

Fact: Vancouver gets a lot of rain. For most of the year our beautiful city is masked in grey clouds and moisture and there's absolutely nothing we can do about it. So we spend our time dodging raindrops and side-stepping puddles, tracing raindrops on windowpanes. We plan our daily attire based on what matches our rain boots and umbrella. We research "Seasonal Affective Disorder" to see if we suffer from it. Our daily routine includes checking multiple travel websites, looking for cheap deals to Mexico and Hawaii for a last minute escape. And all the while, from the safety of our warm, dry, homes and offices, we wait patiently for the sunshine to return.

But we all know that the rain is good, and necessary to keep our trees green and lush and our lakes and ponds full. There's a reason why Vancouver's beauty is breath-taking and it's partially thanks to our months of rain. So as much as we complain about the long months of wetness, deep down we love the rain too.

And so we present this ode to, Vancouver rain. Although you're not the best part of Vancouver, we still love you. Because without you our city wouldn't look half as good as it does.

Thanks to @juliaspitale for sending us this video she captured of Vancouverites crossing a large puddle. It's good for a chuckle. Unless you're one of the people in it that got their feet wet in their attempt.

How do you survive the rain? Leave a comment and let us know! Have a video or photo of Vancouver you want to share with us? We love to hear from our supporters. Send us a note at info@vancouverweloveyou.com!
