World Ski And Snowboard Festival Report!

Some of the Vancouver, we love you crew had the great opportunity to head up to Whistler and partake in the World Ski And Snowboard Festival kick-off weekend.

One of the best end of season wrap up parties, the WSSF does not disappoint. Ski and Snowboard fans are able to watch the exciting Big Air competitions, enjoy free outdoor concerts every day on two village stages, check out the State Of The ART gallery, and partake in the number of other activities happening in Whistler Village.

Our crew headed up Friday night and kicked off the weekend by going to the opening night of State Of The ART where we were blown away by some of the talent showcased in the gallery. After that we headed to Merlin's and watched BC bands One Bad Son and Dirty Radio. We also unintentionally ended up as background extras for one of the Olympus 72hr Filmmaker Showdown entries.

Nas performes to a packed plaza audience
The next day was spent on the hill enjoying some of the end of season spring riding, a stop in at Whistler Brewing, and watching rapper Nas pack out the village plaza for a great show.

Sunday saw more riding, more village strolling, and more patio drinks while enjoying the musical stylings of Australian one man band, Kim Churchill. The weather couldn't have been better and our entire crew were sporting rosy cheeks from too much sunshine.

The World Ski And Snowboard Festival runs until April 21st and is a great family event. Visit their website for a full event schedule including performance times for K-OS and Swollen Members.

In addition to their musical line up and riding competitions, don't miss the WSSF Fashion EXPOSED showcase happening on April 20th and the final celebration, Best Of The Fest, on April 21st. And if you're looking to make a weekend of it, their accommodations page has some cheap last minute deals on hotel rooms and lift tickets. Thanks to WSSF for a great weekend adventure!
