Khats is back!

Khatsahlano Block Party, the biggest free outdoor music and arts festival is returning to the streets of Kits on July 12th. The 10 block street party along West 4th Ave from Burrard to MacDonald is jam packed with hundreds of vendors, food carts, fun activities, art, and of course… music. One of the best local festivals in Vancouver, Khatsahlano Block Party is a summer must.

This year's musical line up sees the extrodinary return of historic The Poppy Family Experience starring Susan Jacks and featuring members of New Pornographers, Black Mountain, and Destroyer. Coming out of the alternative, underground culture that was flourishing along 4th Ave in the sixties and seventies, The Poppy Family released a slew of internatinoal hits that had a huge influence on Vancouver songwriters and continue to do so to this day.

An outdoor exhibition of seminal Vancouver punk artist Jim Cummins (aka I, Braineater) will headline arts programming at Khatsahlano this year.
